Mezcal Cocktail Lab
Join us as we dive into the smoky goodness that is mezcal. We're heading to Little Water Cantina in Eastlake for a hybrid event! If you are fully vaccinated and comfortable doing so you can attend in-person or if you prefer, you can pick up a cocktail kit in advance and attend virtually. No matter how you attend this event, it is sure to be a smoking good time!
If you're attending in person:
You will receive a perfectly crafted mezcal cocktail upon arrival as well as some chips and salsa to nosh on. Then an introduction to mezcal cocktails by Michael Cadden, award-winning bartender and bar manager of Little Water Cantina, as you sip on your welcome cocktail. Your welcome cocktail will be followed by a Montelobos tasting and agave education session with Corry James, the Montelobos Brand Ambassador, who will walk us through a tasting of the Espadin and Tobala. After the tasting, Michael will demonstrate how to make his favorite mezcal cocktail while you sip on that exact cocktail that is already prepared for you. The evening will conclude with a Seattle Cocktail Club Member happy hour where you can stay and hang out with your fellow SCC members.
*Proof of being two weeks post-vaccination is required, no exceptions.
If you are attending virtually:
You will pick up your kit at Little Water Cantina (2865 Eastlake Ave E, Seattle, WA 98102) anytime after May 31st during Little Water Cantina business hours. On the day of the event, you will tune into the live stream and pop open your first perfectly crafted mezcal cocktail that will come prepared for you inside your kit. Then an introduction to mezcal cocktails by Michael Cadden, award-winning bartender and bar manager of Little Water Cantina, as you sip on your welcome cocktail. Your welcome cocktail will be followed by a Montelobos tasting and agave education session with Corry James, the Montelobos Brand Ambassador, who will walk us through a tasting of the Espadin and Tobala. After the tasting, Michael will demonstrate how to make his favorite mezcal cocktail and you will have all of the supplies in your kit to make the cocktail with him in this cocktail lab. After you make your final cocktail, SCC members can join the discord for an at-home happy hour with other participating SCC members.
Our in-person vaccination policy:
At this time, our in-person events are only open to those that are 2 weeks post-vaccination with a vaccination card. While we always want to be as inclusive as possible, during this unprecedented time, we feel that it is important to take this measure for the safety of members of the club. We encourage in-person participation only for those that are comfortable being in a public space and being around other people. We appreciate your patience as we work through events during this pandemic. While we really want to see all of our members at this time, we have to limit capacity to meet the requirements of the Washington State Department of Health
Each SCC event will follow the Washington State Department of Health guidelines and will either be virtual, hybrid or in-person based on what is safest at that time.
